Established with the view that the environment and water resources are essential to human livelihood and sustainable development, Water and environmental development initiative (WEDI) is committed to sustainable development and the management of water and environmental resources in both Somalia rural and urban areas and to improve their effects on the lives of the people through a highly professional team, who are conscious of the need to provide adequate and efficient potable water and safe environment for Somalia.
The growing effect of climate change and global warming has been a major challenge to both food security and environment at large. As Somalia recovers from the civil war that erupted in 1991,Water and environmental development initiative (WEDI) is willing and in the process of filling the gap created by lack of functioning body that advocates for water and environmental issue with close collaboration and coordination with other stakeholders of the same course or those willing to give hand under the guidance of Somalia government
